David Cummings , Chairman of Monmouth and District Chamber of Trade and Commerce commented:

“The Chambers of Trade and Commerce of Abergavenny , Chepstow and Monmouth welcomed the opportunity to be working in close co-operation with Monmouthshire Enterprise on the Monmouthshire County Council sponsored stand, at the South Wales Chamber Business Exhibition at Cardiff City Stadium on 13th July.

A main feature of the stand was the professionally produced video presentation by Creating Media, indicating why Monmouthshire is a place where your business can begin , develop and prosper in a stunning natural environment with excellent infrastructure. We would like to thank the sponsors of the presentation, including Crown Hotels and Restaurants and Ancre Hill Estates, for giving us the funding to put this message across.

The stand proved very popular with local , national and international businesses and visitors, including a Commercial Secretary from the Slovak Embassy in London and the Consul for the Slovak Republic in Wales . The wine tasting by Monmouthshire based award winning vineyard Ancre Hill Estates, proved a big draw and experts where on hand to discuss local business conditions and opportunities to invest .

The Chambers very much look forward to continuing to work in close co-operation with Monmouthshire Enterprise in the future and so help define the economic development policy of the county for the coming years . We feel that to encourage inward investment we must create a cohesive package, which includes a workforce trained in the right skills, tailor made buildings , a flexible approach to planning issues, as well as the county council’s support in embracing opportunities of this digital age by fast broadband access”.
