David Cummings - Chairman
In December 2015, David Cummings celebrated more than 9 years as Chairman of the Chamber. David believes that this continuity has helped develop good working relationships with individuals in Monmouth Town Council, Monmouthshire County Council, the Welsh Government and the business organisations of the county. Successful lobbying of decision makers in 2015 and in prior years, has resulted in planning being granted for the creation of a new 60 bedroom hotel for Monmouth and a 90 space free car park. In 2016 he is hopeful that projects, such as a new 60 space pay and display car park and a luxury spa hotel will come closer to fruition. He very much enjoys working with the active members of the Chamber committee and helping to ensure that the Chamber is seen accessible and the town open for business.
David runs business support organisation The Best Business Solutions and is a Prince 2 Practitioner in Project Management as well as a Fellow of the International Association of Bookkeepers. He is an accomplished cyclist covering some 3000 miles per year and is also keen on DIY and off-road driving. He lives close to the centre of Monmouth with his wife, Cheryl, a member of the Society of Garden Designers.
